credit card debt

Get Cash Back for using your credit card

There is no point in applying for a credit card and running up large debt as this will prevent you from getting another card in the future. Credit Card Debt is a very real scenario in the UK at the moment and consumer debt has grown rapidly, doubling in the last four years alone.

Many of us find it all too easy to build up credit card debt we can't afford. To prevent debt, make sure you are going to be able to afford the cost of the credit as you could be facing difficulties in repayments and you could get a bad credit score effecting any future loan or credit applications.

Make sure you pay off at least the minimum amount every month or if you can afford more, even better. If your Credit Card is over drawn then the first thing to do is to take a proactive approach. If you can’t afford the monthly payments contact your Credit Card company to make arrangements or a more affordable payment plan.

A credit limit doesn’t mean free money. Every penny costs you. Credit Card companies will raise your limit if you use your card regularly. Many people see this as an excuse to spend more money. Don’t fall in to this trap; credit card debt is just around the corner if you do.

Remember Debt is expensive. If you miss repayments you get charged and your repayments increase exponentially. Left untouched Credit Card Debt can get out of hand so rather take control of it before it takes control of you.
